Which template to pick
The short version: if you're unsure, use Single Column. It parses cleanly on every ATS system from Greenhouse to a small company's legacy HR portal.
Use two-column templates (Two Column, Modern Two Column, Photo Sidebar, Dark Pro) if you're applying to mid-size or larger companies with modern recruiting infrastructure — they handle two-column resumes correctly. Avoid them for government applications or small companies under 50 people.
